In an interview with VideoGamer.com EA Games Europe vice president Patrick Soderlund Said, “You will see another Mirror’s Edge for sure”. “It’s just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it.” We have a small team on it, and I’m excited about what we will do.” Being as Mirror’s Edge was in my opinion one of the best games of last year, I was surprised that it only sold a little over 250,000 copies in the US. It had a better showing in the UK but still was thought of as somewhat of a failure.
When originally released, Mirror’s Edge was mapped out as a trilogy, and after a Mirror’s Edgeless E3 I was starting to think that was just a ploy to get gamers to invest. After this though it looks as if EA is backing up their original title and helping to correct the current state of cloned sequential sequel games that they themselves are the main proprietor of.
For those of you that haven’t played through the original Mirrors Edge give it a rent or even pick it up its available for $30 new and I’m sure even cheaper used. Though a short game, its originality gives it hours of replay value, I can say that achievements were not the driving force for me to replay this game over and over again so, needless to say I cant wait to get my hands on Mirror’s Edge 2.
