Blu Monday: Attack of the Angel Ghost Peach

This week on Blu Monday we took a look at Charlie’s Angels, James and the Giant Peach, and The Ghost Writer. Below is a summary of this week’s video review.

Charlie’s Angels: A fun blast from the past loaded with special features. The only problem is all the special features are from previous releases. While the sound and HD picture are great the film gets a Rent It due to a lack of fresh special features.

James and the Giant Peach: This is a beautiful transfer to Blu Ray as you would come to expect from Disney. Yet again this re-release is plagued with a lack of special features and should only be seen by true Peach fanatics. James and the Giant Peach gets a Burn It.

The Ghost Writer: This film was one of our favorites of the year and the picture and sound on the Blu Ray release are superb. This release even has some wonderful special features. The only problem is that some cuss word have been over dubbed. While some could ignore this in the theater the crisp visuals leave a blatant mark on the over all film. If any movie is in need of an unrated version it is The Ghost Writer. While it is a great film it gets a Rent It and wait with crossed fingers for another version.

While Sucker Punch looks cool it reminds me of the lesser know Franklyn basically same idea.

Damn I dug Franklyn but had completely forgotten about that until you just now mentioned it. And now that you do…I completely agree, based on what little of Sucker Punch we have seen and known. Thin is Franklyn was completely skipped over in the states so…most will be clueless.
