Lost in Previews: For Colored Girls

I have to say that I was impressed with this trailer for For Colored Girls.  Considering this is a Tyler Perry movie and there is no Madea in sight, this movie may have a chance at being taken seriously in critics’ eyes.  This movie is all drama, no comedy.  It is based on Tyler Perry’s play “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.”  The trailer itself is very well put together.  The music is fitting and I really liked how they introduced each actress.  It is not about the boys in this movie.  The movie has a slew of talented actresses including Janet Jackson, Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, Loretta Divine, Kimberly Elise, and Kerry Washington.  The movie also stars Omari Hardwick, Tessa Thompson, Macy Gray, Richard Lawson, and Michael Ealy.

For Colored Girls is in theatres November 5, 2010.
