Lost in Previews: Hereafter

There has been a lull in any major trailers being released until today.  Hereafter is what I thought was the story of a psychic/medium who interacts with people needing help to contact their deceased loved ones.  The synopsis begs to differ:

“Hereafter” tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. George is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie, a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might — or must — exist in the hereafter.

The psychic George is played by Matt Damon.  Hereafter also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Jay Mohr, Richard Kind, Jenifer Lewis, and Cécile De France.  Clint Eastwood directed, Peter Morgan wrote it, and Stephen Spielberg and Frank Marshall produced the film.

The trailer is excellent with a great score track behind it.  There is some questionable CG effects that I hope will get better between now and when the film is released.

Hereafter is in theatres October 22, 2010.
