Horror meets The South meets the Church. That’s how I would describe Kevin Smith’s new movie, Red State. Yes, Kevin Smith, who also wrote the screenplay. This is no comedy. I really like the trailer for the simplicity yet it gives you a lot of images from the movie. The film stars John Goodman, Melissa Leo, Michael Angarano, Kyle Gallner, Stephen Root, Nicholas Braun, Kevin Pollak, and Anna Gunn. Are rat tails making a comeback?
So far, Red State has no official release date, but it will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2011.
