Lost in Previews: Super

Super is like the poor man’s Kick-Ass.  Same concept, but this one has a little more indie cred to it.  The film is written and directed by James Gunn, and stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, Linda Cardellini, Nathan Fillion, Michale Rooker, and Gregg Henry.  Rainn Wilson plays the title character whose wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him.  He resorts to becoming a superhero, The Crimson Bolt, who wields a pipe wrench.  He is soon joined by Libby (Ellen Page) who becomes Boltie.  Synopsis:

After his wife falls under the influence of a drug dealer, an everyday guy transforms himself into Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks for heroic skills.

Super will have a premiere at SXSW 2011 on March 12, 2011 with James Gunn, Ellen Page, and Rainn Wilson in attendance.  Super will be in theatres April 1, 2011.
