An Interview with Deftones Bassist Sergio Vega

Sergio Vega re-joined the Deftones in 2009 after tragedy struck the band in late 2008 when bassist Chi Cheng was left in a “minimally conscious” state following a car accident. Vega had previously filled in for Cheng ten years earlier in 1999 when Cheng had been unable to tour with the band. Lost in Reviews had a chance to catch up with Sergio prior to the Deftones performance in support of their 2010 release Diamond Eyes inĀ front of a sold out crowd on Monday April 25 at the Voodoo Lounge in Kansas City. We failed to mention it in the video but fans that would like to help and get the latest news on Chi Cheng’s condition can do so by heading to OneloveforChi.com for the latest updates.

About John Coovert

John was fortunate enough to be born in one of the most magical times of cinema: the eighties. Having an ultra cool aunt that introduced him to awesome sci-fi (Alien, Aliens, Terminator, Predator) and horror (Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Jaws) on VHS, and a cool mom that took him to the theater to see films like Back to the Future, Return of the Jedi, and Goonies, it's no wonder he fell in love with one of the finest forms of escapist entertainment, film. John continues to appreciate all forms of film, actively seeking out information and discussing it with all who will listen.
