Lost in Previews: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Yesterday, there was a live stream with WETA showcasing the first look at Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  Today, the trailer was officially released.  It looks cool, but with the primate testing, it reminds me of Project X.  James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, Andy Serkis, David Oyelowo star and Rupert Wyatt directs this big-budget take on large apes taking over the world.  And by the way, apes are already wicked smart.  They are underestimated, and I am pretty sure this movie is a zookeeper’s worst nightmare come true.  Official Synopsis:

A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other — and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is in theatres August 5, 2011.
