FIRST AVENGER Friday: Fifth is first with the Captain

Or this could also be titled get primed and educated on the history behind Paramount and Marvel Studios CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and win stuff from the studio! Will run two “FIRST AVENGER” Fridays today July 15 and next Friday on the big release of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER July 22. Were a day late here so forgive us on that…which also means you have until Monday to enter to win a CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER prize pack.

Its hard to believe that audiences will be taking in the fifth film in the Marvel cinematic universe in just under a weeks time. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER has quite a bit to live up to. Hype for it is at a fever pitch and after two trailers that really knock it out of the park the time to see the final film before 2012’s THE AVENGERS brings all of the Marvel characters film fans have been introduced to, that’d be Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, and far from last as he is truly the first Avenger Captain America.

How is he the first? Well for those that pay enough attention and read enough in the film blogosphere and news world, or if you’re a long time fan of any of the books its pretty obvious why/how Captain America is the first avenger. Those that have explored the DVD/Blu Ray releases for the previous Marvel Cinematic universe know there are several nods to Captain America contained in both Iron Man films as well as an alternate unused opening to The Incredible Hulk. That said and trying to keep this as spoiler free as possible I’m going to discuss more how the trailers and casting of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.

Really there is only one. The fact that Dominic Copper has been cast as Howard Stark. Fans of Iron Man should recognize that name as Tony Stark aka Iron Man’s father. I’m making pure guesses here but based on the trailer and some of Iron Man 2 I think that the Stark Expo, as well as Howard Stark’s talents will play into the creation of Captain America.

Will find out in just under a weeks time now. That does it for this weeks First Avenger Friday. As a bonus here is a clip introducing CAPTAIN AMERICA as well as a couple of quick clips with the cast Chris Evans and Haley Atwell and Director Joe Johnston

Here is the entry form for the weekly First Avenger Friday giveaway. The form will be up until Monday at midnight. Next chance to enter will be on Friday July 22. All of the standard contest rules apply as can be found in the prize pack information post. Good Luck!

This weeks contest its closed! Check back this Friday for another chance to win a prize pack.
