Help Kanrocksas With a Good Cause

Primary Charitable Partners Announced with Opportunities for Participation with Requests Due by Friday, July 22

07.19.2011– Kansas City, Kan.– Kanrocksas Music Festival announces four charitable partnerships and reaches out to local charities to create “Charity Village” for the two-day event August 5 – 6, with a focus on four core initiatives that strive to improve communities across the Metropolitan area. “Charity Village” will focus on four pillars of need including education, urban core youth, health and wellness, and green initiatives. Kanrocksas Music Festival is dedicating a section of the Kansas Speedway to create a dedicated “Charity Village” focused on generating awareness and support of local non-profit charities. The Kanrocksas team also announces four primary charities selected as designated beneficiaries from special initiatives.

Charitable Partnerships
Kanrocksas Music Festival believes in the power of music and its ability to make a difference, partnering with the Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation for Excellence in support of several music initiatives for youth. Aligning with the other pillars of focus, Kanrocksas Music Festival has established charitable partnerships with Bridging the Gap, Operation Breakthrough, and Turning Point to cover the other core pillars established.

“Charity Village” Opportunity for Involvement

Ten additional charities can join the Kanrocksas Music Festival. The opportunity to build awareness for a non-profit charity that falls under the four established pillars of education, urban core youth, health and wellness, and green initiatives are invited to join the Kanrocksas Music Festival “Charity Village” during the two-day event. All requests to join “Charity Village” at the inaugural music festival must be submitted by Friday, July 22. Charities will be notified on Monday, July 25.

Organization requirements for consideration include:
• Staff a booth during both days of the festival at “Charity Village”
• Provide information, visual displays about charitable organization
• Capture and gain support, but not solicit donations
• Share partnership with Kanrocksas Music Festival prior to and during event through social media and online engagement

Kanrocksas Music Festival will provide booth space, tickets for volunteers and staff, electrical equipment and other amenities to partners.
