Lost in Previews: Hugo

The trailer for Hugo, formerly titled Hugo Cabaret, has hit the interwebs.  This is a film based on the novel The Invention of Hugo Cabaret by Brian Selznick.  This is also a Martin Scorsese directed film and his first foray into 3D.  The film was actually shot in 3D, so this is one film that will actually look good in 3D.  This is definitely a family film.  The film stars Asa Butterfield, Chloe Grace Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory, Richard Griffiths, Frances de la Tour, Emily Mortimer, and Michael Stuhlbarg.  The trailer is very clear and the graphics are really good.  I would like to see the trailer in 3D, just to see how good it looks in 3D.  The music in this trailer is “Kings and Queens” by 30 Seconds to Mars.  This is the second trailer I know of that has used this song.

“Hugo tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key. Based on Brian Selznick’s award winning and imaginative New York Times bestseller, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, this magical tale is Academy Award(R)-winner Martin Scorsese’s first film shot in 3D.”

Hugo is in theatres November 23, 2011.
