Podcast: Almost Locals Only- The Great Summer Catch up

Were finally back after a longer than expected summer vacation induced break. John and Nat are re-joined with Shannon. We quickly get the movies as Nat gives us his take on the final film in the Harry Potter franchise with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2. We then do a bit of summer catch up and talk Transformers: Dark of the Moon as well as last weeks Horrible Bosses which stakes its claim as the fourth hard R comedy film this summer. In Cinema News and Views Shannon sounds off on Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher in “One Shot”. For Shannon’s full thoughts check out here piece here. We briefly touch on the fact that Comic Con happens this week, Diablo Cody being brought on board the Evil Dead remake giving the script a rewrite and then have a pretty through discussion about the feigned outrage that ran rampant across the internet last week when Netflix adjusted their pricing model. Trailer Vs. Trailer makes its trimphant return thanks to a fresh batch of summer 2012 teasers, Fall/Winter Oscar fodder and in this weeks case Holiday releases as we pit Martin Scorsese’s Hugo up against Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes A Book of Shadows. We close out the podcast discussing what we watched including 13 Assassins, Three Extremes, Project Nim and the Planet of the Apes Franchise thus far. We ran a little long so there is also a thirty minute “After Hours” podcast which you can listen to right here.

What is Almost Locals Only?  It’s a podcast discussing the latest film releases, movie news, and sometimes more.

About Lost in Reviews

Named after the 2003 film Lost in Translation, Lost in Reviews set out to embody the philosophy of this film in a website. Discouraged with the lack of passion in modern day criticism, founders Angela Davis and Ryan Davis created the entertainment review site in 2009. The idea being that, this would be the go-to place for people to find that something that was missing in their life through film or music.

Lost in Reviews is based in Kansas City, Dallas and Chicago. The site covers all aspects of entertainment, but tries to focus more on the easily over-looked. Lost in Reviews is the home to the starving filmmaker and indie bands everywhere. If you’re looking for a voice or trying to share in a vision, then Lost in Reviews just may be the place to help you get there. As the tag line for Lost in Translation says: “Everyone wants to be found.” So find yourself Lost in Reviews.
