“Snow White and the Huntsman” at San Diego Comic Con 2011

There are just way too many things coming out of the San Diego Comic Con right now.  A film project that I am curious about had its first reveal this afternoon.  Snow White and the Huntsman is a version of the classic fairy tale.  Until today, no one knew what kind of direction this film was taking.  Based on the information and pictures released today, I think we can all agree that it will be a dark version.  It has also previously been mentioned that this project might turn into a trilogy.  The main actors are Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman), Charlize Theron (The Evil Queen), and Sam Claflin (The Prince).  There will also be dwarves, eight to be exact, but the eighth does not survive long in the film.  The dwarves are played by a myriad of excellent actors which include Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, Eddie Marsan, and Bob Hoskins.  Filming has yet to start.  My question is will this all be in an English accent?  Because Kristen Stewart in an English accent could be interesting.

Check out the character photos below and the synopsis.

Snow White and the Huntsman is in theatres June 1, 2012

“In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.”
