If you don’t count The Avengers teaser at the end of the Captain America credits, this is the first trailer. The trailer gives you a taste of all of the comic superheroes that are in the film and sets up Loki from Thor to be the bad guy focus in the film. The film looks like fun so far, but it seems to be keeping Iron Man and Robert Downey, Jr. as the main focus right now. Considering both Iron Man films made a ton of cash at the box office, this is a smart move. The film also stars Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.
I had a discussion with a friend after seeing this trailer. What does the Summer 2012 look like in terms of superhero movies? It would obviously not make sense to release any sequels to any of the superheroes featured in The Avengers. We could come up with The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man. Any others?
