Lost in Previews: GI Joe: Retaliation Trailer and Super Bowl Spot

I do not think I ever watched the trailer for GI Joe: Retaliation until now, and I have to say that I am impressed.  It is a really good trailer, and I dig the techno version of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” used in it.  It looks to have some good action and stunts.  I never saw the first GI Joe, but I heard it was pretty bad.  It looks like no one from the first one is back (correct me if I am wrong) except for Channing Tatum who gets killed off in the beginning.  What I had to laugh at is the Bruce Willis scene in the end, but I don’t know how much he is actually in the film.  This mostly looks like a film for Dwayne Johnson and some big guns.  The film also stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, and Ray Stevenson.  I am also attaching the Super Bowl spot that will be on for the big game on Sunday.

“A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe(R) characters, the film is scheduled to be released on June 29,2012.”

GI Joe: Retaliation is in theatres June 29, 2012.
