While it’s STILL crushing Box-Office records, and rightfully so, we’ve already got an official announcement for Marvel’s The Avengers on blu-ray. The ol’ boys are headed to your home theater on September 25th. You’ll be able to grab a nice hot steaming plate of Shawarma, and watch the film in glorious Hi-Def, or in 3D (if you’re into that sorta thing), as well as a ton of extras, which include:
AVENGERS 4-Disc BD Combo Pack, 2-Disc BD Combo Pack and 2-Disc DVD Combo Pack Special Features:
• AUDIO COMMENTARY BY DIRECTOR JOSS WHEDON
• MARVEL ONE-SHOT: ITEM 47
• SECOND SCREEN
• GAG REEL
• DELETED SCENES
- Alternate Opening – Maria Hill Interrogation
- Extended Scene – Loki & Barton Strategize

• SOUNDGARDEN MUSIC VIDEO – “Live to Rise”
I could definitely live without the crappy Soundgarden video, but hey, whatcha gonna do? And I don’t know about you guys, but I’m super excited to watch the 30 minutes of deleted footage from Joss Whedon’s original 3 Hour cut of the film. But If Joss Whedon REALLY wants to impress me, the Menu Screens will be all of the Avengers sitting on a couch watching The Avengers. Or better yet, an audio commentary with all of the Avengers in character. Make it happen, Joss Whedon. The tesseract is in your court.
