Argo is the next film from actor-director Ben Affleck. If you have seen The Town and Gone Baby Gone, you probably want to see this film as well. Ben Affleck has recently been sporting a Justin Beiber haircut in all of the papparazi photos while Argo was filming. That is because the film is set in the 1970s and this was in then (take note, Beiber). The large cast includes Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Kerry Bishé, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Christopher Denham, Tate Donovan, Clea DuVall, Victor Garber, Zeljko Ivanek, Richard Kind, Scoot McNairy, Chris Messina, Michael Parks, and Taylor Schilling. Chris Terrio and Joshuah Bearman wrote the screenplay.
The trailer has two parts to it that do not seem to mesh well together. It starts with a hostage crisis then goes to the comedic side of the film about making a fake film to get said hostages out. Then it goes back to the hostage crisis. I am hoping this will play better in the film or any of the future trailers because it does not flow well in this trailer.
“Based on true events, Warner Bros. Pictures’ and GK Films’ dramatic thriller “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis–the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades.”
Argo is in theatres October 12, 2012.
