Hyde Park on Hudson is an new biopic about a particular point in time in 1939 when the King and Queen of England came to visit US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It also looks at the relationship between FDR and his cousin Margaret Suckley. The cast is impressive with Bill Murray as Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Laura Linney as Margaret Suckley, Samuel West as King George VI, Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth, and Olivia Williams as Eleanor Roosevelt. Richard Nelson wrote the screenplay and Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Morning Glory) directed the film.
“The story of the love affair between FDR and his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley, centered around the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.”
Hyde Park on Hudson is in theatres December 7, 2012.
