Lost in Previews: The Loved Ones

The trailer for The Loved Ones starts out with making you think this is another high school comedy about school dances and dating, but no.  It turns into a psycho kidnapping prom horror film that had me a little interested.  Obviously the father and daughter that are a tad nutso, but don’t you admire the lengths that the dad will go to for his daughter.  And color me surprised that I could not ID Xavier Samuel as the kidnapped boy.  He seems to melt into his characters quite well.  I did not know he was in Anonymous until the end credits rolled, even though I thought the guy that played his character looked familiar.  The horror film stars Xavier Samuel, Robin McLeavy, Jessica McNamee, Richard Wilson, and Victoria Thaine.  Sean Byrne directed.

“Lola Stone asked Brent Mitchell to the prom, but Brent said no, and now he’s screwed. What happens when Lola doesn’t get what she wants? She enlists Daddy’s help to throw a prom of her own, where she is queen and Brent is king — whether he likes it or not. THE LOVED ONES is what happens when puppy love goes horribly, violently wrong. Brent should have said yes…”

The Loved Ones does not have a release date yet.
