Press Release:
(May 16, 2012) – From China to Mexico City, New York City to Tokyo, and from Sydney to Spain, Brooklyn-based duo SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS will be jetting across the globe this summer with dates hitting most every continent. The group will be performing several festival dates as well as supporting The Temper Trap on two dates back in the US in early June. Benjamin Curtis (guitar) and Alejandra Deheza (vocals/guitar) have just wrapped up their North American headline tour in support of their third full-length, GHOSTORY (2/12, Vagrant/Ghostly International). While on a stop in Chicago at the Lincoln Hall, the group caught up with director Daniel Ryan who captured the band performing “White Wind” live for his site, FOR NO ONE. The clip also debuts via BrooklynVegan here.
School Of Seven Bells originally formed in 2006 and released their debut full-length, Alpinisms, on Ghostly International in 2008. The group’s ethereal glaze has reached far and wide, with their signature sounds stemming from pieces of electronic sub-genres and shoegaze acts before them laying a foundation that is endearingly individual. By 2010, the group released the critically acclaimed Disconnect From Desire on Ghostly International and Vagrant. GHOSTORY is set to become their most defining work to date, beautifully crafted and hauntingly poignant, with the story of Lafaye lingering the atmosphere long after the music stops.
