ARC Entertainment picked up Fat Kid Rules the World for US distribution. Along with this news is the accomplishment of the Fat Kid Rules the World achieved its Kickstarter goal of raising $150,000 to take the film on the road with the Warped Tour. Along with ARC, the film will be available to “demand” on Tugg.com for a screening in your city. Fat Kid Rules the World is a film directed by Matthew Lillard based on the novel by K.L. Going. It stars Matthew Lillard, Jacob Wysocki, Matt O’Leary, Billy Campbell and features music by Pearl Jam member, Mike McCready.
““FAT KID RULES THE WORLD” follows Troy Billings who is seventeen, overweight, and suicidal. Just as he’s about to jump in front of a bus, he’s saved by Marcus, a charming high school dropout/street musician. The two begin an uneasy friendship when Marcus enlists the musically challenged Troy to become the drummer in a new punk rock band. As Troy’s relationship with Marcus grows, Troy’s father becomes increasingly concerned about his son’s new friendship.”
There is no news on an official theatrical release date yet.
