WOW! That was all I said after seeing this first trailer for Anna Karenina. It is just beautiful and stunning. The music used in the trailer is just breathtaking. It is clear that director Joe Wright is not taking the conventional route to tell the story. I am now very excited to see this film, even more so than before, and this topped the Breaking Dawn trailer that was released today for this Twihard. Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love) wrote the script. The film stars Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Ruth Wilson.
I can guarantee you that this will make my list of the top trailers for 2012.
“The third collaboration of Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley with director Joe Wright, following the award-winning boxoffice successes “Pride & Prejudice” and “Atonement,” is the epic love story “Anna Karenina,” adapted from Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel by Academy Award winner Tom Stoppard (“Shakespeare in Love”). The story unfolds in its original late-19th century Russia high-society setting and powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna (Ms. Knightley) questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.”
Anna Karenina is in theatres November 9, 2012
