Lost in Previews: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Second Teaser Trailer

These are the days that the Twilight fans love.  The second teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was released this morning.  I was skeptical that  it was actually going to be a teaser trailer, but clocking in at only about a minute long, it does qualify.  While the first teaser trailer focused on Bella (Kristen Stewart) becoming a vampire, this trailer focuses on the plot of the film.

In this second installment of the Breaking Dawn novel, the Volturi catch wind that the Cullen coven has created a vampire child.  The source of this information is Irina of the Denali coven (Maggie Grace) who runs to the Volturi as a means of revenge against Bella and the Cullens for killing her love, Laurent, who died at the hands of the wolves in New Moon.  The vampire child in question is Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) who was born to Bella and Edward (Robert Pattinson) at the end of Breaking Dawn – Part 1.  She is not wholly vampire, but part human as well.  She grows at a rapid rate.  The Volturi set out to kill Renesmee.  When Alice (Ashley Greene) sees a vision of the Volturi coming, the Cullens have enough time to react and call a number of covens and nomad vampires to help them.  The result is a standoff that looks like this on the Cullen side:

This film indeed does look promising.  I like the shots of Bella at the beginning of the trailer in the forest.  I am also glad to see the Volturi back in the saga.  The standoff battle at the end could indeed be pretty amazing with so many actors in play to create the scene.  Best line of the trailer: “There are a lot of red eyes around here.”

If you are curious as to who is who with all of the new vampires, check my original posts (here and here) from when all the new vampires and their actors were announced.

There should be at least one full theatrical trailer before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 releases on November 16, 2012.
