Kanrocksas Returns in 2013!

As most Kansas Citian’s (Kansas City-ites? Kansas City-uns?) may already know, 2012 did not have a Kanrocksas. The inaugural launch of the festival 2011 at the Kansas Speedway, headlined by Muse, The Flaming Lips, and a big M&M, proved to be quit a success. But due to renovations of the speedway, KC was left in this dust this year. But fear not, children. For Kanrocksas will return! Really, though? Couldn’t we have at least changed that name? The festival will move up a month, taking over Kansas Speedway on June 28-29 2013. To me, the June scheduling reeks of originality. Which is exciting. That means that it won’t simply just be tons of bands in route to Chicago for Lollapalooza. It’ll actually have it’s own identity next year. As long as we can keep that shitty rap headliners and dubstep out, I’ll be really open minded about this.

Here’s the full press release containing information about ticket pre-sales:

You’ve waited over 12 months for some good news and now you’re the first to know.

That’s right.  We’re ecstatic to announce Kanrocksas Music Festival is coming back on June 28-29, 2013.

In August 2011, Kanrocksas introduced Midwest music lovers to a top-tier music festival experience at the spectacular Kansas Speedway – a perfect place to throw a big party.  Festival goers from across the nation and around the globe were entertained by national and local musicians representing virtually every genre.  The fan experience was absolutely world class.

We’re here to let you know we’ll have big name acts, great local artists and added amenities to make your experience even bigger and better than ever in 2013.

By purchasing during the early bird period, you’ll receive the highest value for festival tickets – $65 off the full ticket price. To maximize value, fans will be able to secure free festival camping during the early bird period as well – another $50 off.  Early Bird tickets and free camping are available in limited quantities and for a limited time only.

Secure your spot starting at 10:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday, September 21 only at Kanrocksas.com.  Once the Early Bird tickets are sold out, advance tickets will become available for purchase. An Early Bird 2-day ticket and camping reservation will save fans $115 when compared to full-price tickets.

Anyone wanna start betting on headliners?
