Lost in Previews: ‘Cloud Atlas’ Trailer 2

This is the second trailer for Cloud Atlas.  The first look at the film was an almost six minute trailer that confused just about everyone, including me.  This second trailer provides a more succinct look at the film with some new scenes.  It is still confusing but the imagery of this film makes me want to see it.  Cloud Atlas could be one of those films that is either outstanding or one of those “Huh?” films.

Cloud Atlas is based on the novel of the same name by David Mitchell.   The film is written and directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, and Andy Wachowski.  The Wachowskis are the same pair responsible for The Matrix Trilogy.  The film stars many actors including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, and Hugh Grant.

“”Cloud Atlas” explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.”

Cloud Atlas is in theatres October 26, 2012.
