That’s right, folks! This is the last trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and THE FINAL TRAILER FOR ANYTHING TWILIGHT! Seriously, so excited that this is it. If they release another trailer, I will be really pissed. I am sad that it is over, but also excited that the obsession will be done. I can move on to obsessing about other film series. Stay tuned for what that will be, but I think it will be The Mortal Instruments if the first film turns out to be any good.
The film stars many, many people this time around with all of the vampire covens that come in to help the Cullens defend themselves against the Volturi. The cast includes Andrea Gabriel, Angela Sarafyan, Ashley Greene, Bill Tangrandi, Billy Burke, Cameron Bright, Casey LaBow, Charlie Bewley, Christian Camargo, Christopher Heyerdahl, Dakota Fanning, Daniel Cudmore, Elizabeth Reaser, Erik Odom, Guri Weinberg, Jackson Rathbone, Jamie Campbell Bower, Judi Shekoni, Kellan Lutz, Kristen Stewart, Lee Pace, Lisa Howard, Mackenzie Foy, Maggie Grace, Marlane Barnes, Mia Maestro, Michael Sheen, MyAnna Buring, Nikki Reed, Noel Fisher, Omar Metwally, Patrick Brennan, Peter Facinelli, Rami Malek, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Toni Trucks, Tracey Heggins, and Valorie Curry.
Bill Condon, who directed Part 1, also directed Part 2. Melissa Rosenberg wrote the screenplay as well as all the other Twilight films.
Trailer Review: It has been a VERY long time since I picked up Breaking Dawn the book. I do not remember a lot of the specifics about all of the new vampires and their powers. I am glad they are featured heavily in the trailer. I really like Casey LaBow as Kate and Lee Pace as Garrett. The final battle between the Volturi and the other covens is hard to explain because it relies so heavily on the each vampire’s powers if they possess any. A good precursor to this battle is the one at the end of Eclipse with the Volturi demonstrating their powers. New Moon also shows this as well. I will always be concerned with the acting in these films. It has gotten better through the films as the actors have grown. I wonder if Kristen Stewart will be able to pull off the mom role convincingly. She looks a bit stiff in the trailers. I am surprised that we got a flashback scene in the trailer. Very cool. I am also wondering how the CGI aging of Renesmee will look since there is no hint of it in the trailer. There was a very brief scene of it in Part 1 where Jacob imprints. BUT, how about a hand for Kung Fu Bella?!
And we have all heard about the change in the ending, right? It was thought up in a discussion between Melissa Rosenberg and Stephenie Meyer. I am a little scared to tell you the truth.
“The astonishing conclusion to the series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, PART 2, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.”
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is in theatres November 16, 2012.
