Lost In Previews: ‘Evil Dead’ Red Band Trailer

Remember when it was first announced that The Evil Dead was going to be remade for modern audiances? Remember that collective gasp of horror, that giant feeling of anger you felt towards hollywood for potentially ruining one of THE classic horror films of all time? Remember denouncing Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi when they both announced themselves attached as producers? And then remember the even bigger feeling of torture when it was announced that Diablo Cody was working on re-writes, and that there was possibilities of a PG-13 rating?

Everything about this teaser hits the mark. EVERYTHING. It’s hard to even put into words how awesome this thing is. Trust me, I’ve watched it 4 times already. Oh, and fun fact about those astronomical levels of blood featured within these 90 seconds? Director Fede Alvarez, states that there is not ONE single usage of CGI in the entire film, and that all instances of gore are practical effects. If that doesn’t bring a wide sadistic smile to your face, nothing will.

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Evil Dead will be released on April 12, 2013.
