Having not read the book, Beautiful Creatures, the first trailer had me intrigued. This second trailer sheds more “light” on the story, especially Emma Thompson’s character who I thought was just a concerned local in the first trailer. Nope. She appears to be the most evil, powerful witch or caster, and wants Lena to join her. There is also a lot kissing in this trailer. Still, the concept and the story are enough for me to want to read the book and see the film.
The film is based on the novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The cast includes Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, and Emma Thompson. Richard LaGravenese wrote the screenplay and directed the film.
