In the era of remakes, even horror classics are falling victim to the trend. The latest is Carrie. The original starred Sissy Spacek, Amy Irving, and Piper Laurie. The remake stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort. The film is directed by Kimberly Peirce and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Of course, it is based on the novel by Stephen King.
The teaser trailer is pretty basic. The camera rolls above a town in the midst of destruction. Lines from the film are spoken and hint at what is happening. The culmination of the trailer is zooming in on Carrie all bloody in her prom dress.

“A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.”
Carrie is in theatres March 15, 2013.
