Lost in Previews: Rust and Bone

Rust and Bone got a lot of good press as part of the Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals.  The film is set in France and stars Marion Cotillard.  It also stars one of Belgium’s most popular actors, Matthias Schoenaerts.  He starred in Bullhead (available on Netflix Instant).  Rust and Bone is part tragedy and part romance.  This trailer has a lot of critics’ reviews in it, but I still love the trailer with the great music and beautiful images.  The topic of killer whales and accidents is something that has become relevant in the US in the past few years.  I can definitely put this on my must see list.

“Jaqcues Audiard, acclaimed director of A Prophet and The Beat That My Heart Skipped, returns with this tough but tender romantic drama about two people from very different worlds seeking redemption in each other. Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose, Inception) stars as Stephanie, a killer whale trainer who late one night meets Alain (Matthias Schoenaerts, Bullhead) in a fracas at the nightclub where he works as a bouncer. Put in charge of his young son, Alain (Matthias Schoenaerts) has come from Belgium to Antibes to live with his sister and her husband as a family. Alain’s bond with Stephanie grows deeper after Stephanie suffers a horrible accident, bringing the two together once more.”

Rust and Bone is in theatres November 23, 2012 in a limited release.
