Lost in Previews: Star Trek: Into Darkness

HOLY S***!  If you thought J.J. Abrams might step it up a notch . . . HE DID.  This is the teaser trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness.  They are calling it an announcement trailer.  That’s a new term and I have no clue where it came from.  The trailer itself is loaded with stunning images and mass destruction.  Like the title itself, it goes dark this time around.  If Benedict Cumberbatch was supposed to be a secret villian, he is no more.  He narrates this trailer, and we also get to see him.  Question is who does he play and have we seen this villian before?  I also would like to know who Alice Eve is playing as she seems to have a significant role in the film.  The red world that Captain Kirk and Bones are seen in is intriguing.  Looks like we will have some awesome fights this time around as well.  This teaser makes me so much more excited for this film than before.

The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Bruce Greenwood, and Peter Weller.  J.J. Abrams directed the film.

“In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes ‘Star Trek Into Darkness.’ When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.”

Star Trek: Into Darkness is in theatres May 17, 2013.
