Our glimpse of The Lone Ranger just got a bit longer with the first full trailer. The teaser trailer gives a preview of what is to come, but this first full trailer. It shows us the origin of The Lone Ranger himself, why he wears a mask, and then it takes off from there. If anything, the film looks like a fun ride with a lot of stunts involving horses and trains. Could this be another classic Johnny Depp character in the making?
The film stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter, James Frain, Matt O’Leary, and William Fichtner. Gore Verbinski directed the film and Eric Aronson, Terry Rossio, Ted Elliott, and Justin Haythe wrote the screenplay.
“From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.”
The Lone Ranger is in theatres July 3, 2013.
