The Poster for ‘Oblivion’ Shows a Future Earth

Tom Cruise has another science fiction film coming out next year called Oblivion, and the poster came out today.  The poster depicts a future Earth and Tom Cruise standing in front of a past city, his space ship by his side.  Other than Tom Cruise, the film stars Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Andrea Riseborough, Zoe Bell, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Olga Kurylenko.  Joseph Kosinski directed the film and contributed to the screenplay.  I was a fan of Tron: Legacy, so I will gladly see anything else Kosinski does.  Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, Catching Fire), William Monahan (The Departed), and Karl Gajdusek (created the TV show Last Resort) also contributed to the screenplay.

“A court martial sends a veteran soldier to a distant planet, where he has to destroy the remains of an alien race. The arrival of an unexpected traveler causes him to question what he knows about the planet, his mission, and himself.”

Oblivion is in theatres April 19, 2013.
