Lost in Previews: Olympus Has Fallen

Olympus Has Fallen PosterIf you like big, action flicks with terrorists, political hostages, and some sad drama mixed in with it, Olympus Has Fallen may be the film for you.  The trailer does a really good job of summing up the backstory and the main plot of the film.  The main characters are a Secret Service agent (Gerard Butler) and the President (Aaron Eckhart).  After an incident that leaves the First Lady (Ashley Judd) dead, the agent leaves service, only to become a major hero when a terrorist group attacks D.C. and takes the President hostage.

The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett: , Dylan McDermott, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, and Rick Yune.  Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt wrote the screenplay and Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Shooter) directed the film.

“When the White House (Secret Service Code: “Olympus”) is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning’s inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President, and avert an even bigger disaster.”

Olympus Has Fallen is in theatres March 22, 2013.
