With a simple stage setup and abundant energy, the band had the whole audience jumping to their anthemic music. Based out of San Fransico and consisting of members Nik Hughes, Alice Katz, Simon Katz, Sam Martin, and Tasso Smith. This new band has found popularity and air time with the single “We Come Running.”
Lead singer Simon was wearing the Texas appropriate “Shotgun Willie” t-shirt as he ran constantly back and forth along the front of the stage to engage the crowd from corner to corner. Alice looking lovely and oh so tiny on that giant stage. Being an opening band the set was short, only about 30 minutes. They covered songs from their debut EP which only features four songs, of course
including “We Come Running” to which the audience sang along at the top of their lungs.
This is a fun, infectious band that has a great dynamic that comes through well on their stage show.
They ended with a great drumming session where every single member participated on their own drum. I really liked that being the ridiculous fan on percussion in a live show that I am.
For those of you catching them later on in the tour, they did come spend time with fans after their set at the merch table. Their next stop on the continued tour with Keane is the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
