This is the final full trailer for The Lone Ranger before its release in July. Compared to the other trailers, this one gives us a closer look at some of the supporting characters. James Badge Dale plays The Lone Ranger’s older brother, who looks a lot like Danny Masterson from That 70s Show. William Fichtner puts on a lot of grime and a long black wig to play one of the bad guys. You can also see Helena Bonham Carter and Barry Pepper in the trailer.
The trailer is action heavy with lots of cool stunts that I am sure will look great in 3D. I like the nonchalant crossing of the trains using the ladder, only to have it smashed to smithereens a few seconds later. The comedy in this film is very reminiscent of The Pirates of the Carribean.
The film stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter, James Frain, Matt O’Leary, and William Fichtner. Gore Verbinski directed the film and Eric Aronson, Terry Rossio, Ted Elliott, and Justin Haythe wrote the screenplay.
Also included below is a recording of the live Q & A with Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Gore Verbinski, and Jerry Bruckheimer that occurred earlier today after the premiere of the trailer.
“From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.”
The Lone Ranger is in theatres July 3, 2013.
