After premiering at the Berlin Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca Films and Well Go have acquired the US distribution rights to the independent drama A Single Shot. The drama was directed by David Rosenthal and stars Sam Rockwell as John Moon a hunter who accidentally shoots a young girl and soon finds himself entangled with criminals in the woods of West Virgina while also employing the help of a shady lawyer, played by William H. Macy, to fight his divorce.
According to Time Out New York “A Single Shot is an expertly rendered white-trash Noir…Rockwell’s performance is impressively flinty, as is the rest of the cast…The result is never less than absorbing, and impressively dark through to the very end.”
The film will be released to general audiences beginning on August 20th on various platforms such as Video OnDemand, iTunes, Amazon Instant Play, and Google Play. A Single Shot will then be released nationwide on the big screen September 20th, 2013.
“I am thrilled join forces with Tribeca and Well Go,” said Rosenthal. “I had a great experience with Tribeca releasing my last film and it’s fantastic to once again have such supportive and passionate partners.”
A Single Shot also stars Jeffrey Wright, Kelly Reilly, Jason Isaacs, Ted Levine, Melissa Leo, and Joe Anderson.
