The grunge rockers are one of the headlining acts for the SXSW debut of the iTunes Festival in Austin, Texas. Not only are they appearing at the festival for a free performance, but they’ll also be celebrating the anniversary of Superunknown, performing their landmark album in order and also in full. Such hits from this album include “Black Hole Sun” and “Spoonman.” The performance teases the 20th anniversary reissue of Superunknown, which will be available as a multi-disc release on June 3.
Soundgarden will be headlining the 3rd night of the iTunes festival on March 13 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. Tickets are free; however, to attend fans will need to have a SXSW badge and enter a ticket lottery at the convention center the two days preceding the performance. Select entries may be available for wristband holders. All winners will be notified 12 hours prior to the performance.
In addition to Soundgarden, the iTunes Festival will also be hosting performances from the already announced Coldplay, Keith Urban, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar and Pitbull among others.
