DSC_0311The four piece band from Brooklyn, New York may surprise you with their sound ranging from rock to electronic, all infused with a bit of reggae flair. BEAR HANDS has grown up a bit since I last saw them in 2012 and their latest release DISTRACTION is a must own. Songs like “Giants” is a must for any summer play list and seeing them live is more than recommended.

Things have changed since I last saw the group, mostly in their popularity. No longer is BEAR HANDS a band that I can slip into their show moments before they go on stage. The secret is out and I couldn’t be happier. It’s always nice to look around and find that you’re not the only one that knows every lyric to every song. If anything it helps the performance.

Front man Dylan Rau has grown a lot in his stage presence, the wit and sassy remarks are not only prevalent in his lyrics but also in his on stage persona. Their live show has a new energy that envelops you and forces you to take part. If you get a chance to see the band on tour this year, please do so, I know you won’t regret it.
