Alright, summer is finally over and all I can do is give a big sigh of relief. I feel the same way when it comes to this latest addition to the Rom-Com category. After a few viewings of the trailer I had to say that I was a little worried. Mostly because it felt like Going the Distance was just the first of many that would try to cash in on the crowd the (500) Days of Summer left behind. I’m happy to say I was wrong and the only thing Going the Distance has in common with one of my favorite movies from last year is how...

Blu Monday for the week of August 31 was short and sweet. We will talk about Harry Brown on Blu-ray and Brothers and Sisters: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD.
Video Review Summary:
Harry Brown on Blu-Ray: Michael Caine stars in this action-packed story of a man who takes things into his own hands when his friend is killed and the law is no help. Ryan thought that this was an excellent story worth watching over and over again. Caine is at the peak of his career with Harry Brown and the direction was brilliant as well. Even...

This week on Blu Monday, we take you through the pros and cons of The Last Song on Blu Ray, Cougar Town Season One on DVD, Ugly Betty The Fourth and Final season on DVD all available on Tuesday, August 17th and Ajami on Blu Ray available on Tuesday, August 24th.
Video Summary:
The Last Song (Blu Ray): With beautiful visuals and an enjoyable soundtrack minus the songs by Miley Cyrus, the story holds up to the previous Nicholas Sparks’ stories for a good film. The down side is that the star is Miley Cyrus and doesn’t...

Hey man, do you like things that are awesome with snarky humor that would make your mom say, “WHHAAT?!?” and just leave you rolling your eyes in total humiliation? Then you will love, cue the movie guy voice, Scott Pilgrim VS the World!!!! That’s right kids this is the homage to your youth that you’ve been waiting for!
Scott Pilgrim vs The World isn’t your typical comic book movie. There are no caped crusaders or robot-powered super heroes in this story. In fact it’s more like 500 Days of Summer...

The men want to be her, the women want to be with her. Tonight the Sprint Center packed to capacity to see an electrifying night with Lady Gaga. But first, the openers, Semi Precious Weapons.
The four piece band originates from New York, same as Gaga. While just seeing guitarist Stevy Pyne, bassist Cole Whittle and drummer Dan Crean one would think this is just another dirty grunge rock band that lucked out of playing the dingy dive bars from whence they came. That is, until you set eyes on Justin Tranter the lead singer of SPW....

Many of you may know that we at Lost In Reviews are all big, big fans of the epic Andrew W.K. One might think, “Why? He is just a crazy screamer who sings about partying?” Well you would be only initially correct. He does like to scream his praise about partying, but there is a deeper layer to his scream and his love for putting everyone in a great mood. His motive in life seems to be to please everyone around him. He is never one to turn down a hug request from a fan, or cancel a show due to a lightning...

This week on Blu Monday we took a look at Charlie’s Angels, James and the Giant Peach, and The Ghost Writer. Below is a summary of this week’s video review.
Charlie’s Angels: A fun blast from the past loaded with special features. The only problem is all the special features are from previous releases. While the sound and HD picture are great the film gets a Rent It due to a lack of fresh special features.
James and the Giant Peach: This is a beautiful transfer to Blu Ray as you would come to expect from Disney....

This week on Blu Monday, we cover an action-packed couple of weeks of July 20th and July 27th with Clash of the Titans, Cop Out The Rock out with your Glock out Edition and The Losers.
Video Review Summary:
Clash of the Titans: RENT IT. Where Clash is lacking in story, it makes up for in visuals and sound. With special features like Maximum Movie Mode, it takes our previous low rating from the theatre and bumps this up to a rental.
Cop Out The Rock out with your Glock out Edition: BUY IT. With an awesome name like this, it’s...

Earlier this week, the musical snuff film that is The Runaways graced retail outlet shelves. I had a chance to catch The Runaways at SXSW, but since Angela wrote the review, I never got to express my feelings about the movie. Away from the mystique that comes with the red carpets and flash bulbs I wondered if The Runaways could hold it’s steam, and I’m happy to say it did. Being a musician, I’ve always been enthralled by films about drugged-out, glorious rock stars and for the most part that’s what I thought...

Before today I was an outsider, not in on the secret that is Sundowner. Before today, I had no clue that Chris McCaughan was pouring his heart out on vinyl; I had no clue that Chicago had such a gem hidden in their windy city. It’s not that I don’t try and seek out these hidden gems, it’s just hard not to get lost in the constant bombardment that is music now a days. Well, that being said I’m not the whisper kind of guy. I like to scream from rooftops and make sure everyone loves what I love. When I become...

Though High Fidelity isn’t the typical unknown movie, it’s definitely worth talking about. I remember hearing the music play along to John Cusack saying “What came first? The music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns and watching violent videos, we’re scared that some sort of culture of violence is taking them over”… That’s when I knew it I would love this movie for the rest of my life.
I know most of you have seen it and probably love it as much as I do, so rather...

Last week I left you with that strange drama taste in your mouth, so this time around I wanted to show you that an action flick can have a little depth. Equilibrium is a movie that was completely overlooked in 2002 mostly because it had to follow 1999’s The Matrix with about half the budget. With big white box letters on the front stating, “FORGET THE MATRIX” how could I not take it for a test spin? Because of this bold statement and a cleverly designed box art I was instantly drawn to the film while perusing...

We just had to do a video review this time around so you could really hear us argue our points for and against The Last Airbender. I loved it, where as Ryan did not like it so much. I will preface by saying that we are both M. Night Shyamalan fans, and neither of us have previously watched the Avatar: The Last Airbender series on Nickelodeon. Watch the video and let us know if you liked it our hated it. We cover the acting, CGI/graphics, 3D, story/plot, robots and more!
