Let me just say right off the bat that this trailer is friggin’ beautiful and amazing. Legend of the Guardians is an animated movie directed by Zach Snyder who was responsible for Watchmen (another brilliant trailer). The trailer points out that the story is based on the novels “The Guardians of Ga’hoole.” There is one voice I could pick out immediately, Hugo Weaving. He is in good company with Emilie de Ravin (Lost), Abbie Cornish (Bright Star), Geoffrey Rush, Helen Mirren, Jim Sturgess (Across...

As we had previously posted, Starlight Theatre was taking a survey to gauge interest in holding a screening of the concert film Another Version of the Truth: The Gift. The film was assembled by a group of passionate fans under the project name of “This one is on us” using band-shot footage that they released as a “gift” of the 2008-2009 Nine Inch Nails North America ‘Lights in the Sky’ tour.
Well if you are a Nine Inch Nails fan, there is some great news. Response was good enough that Starlight...

This is so right on and funny I just couldn’t wait to share it. Anyone who is a fan of Wes Anderson’s work, like myself can appreciate the hard work put into this YouTube parody of what it might be like if Wes Anderson had directed the first Spider-Man.

Solid State to Digital
In the past year the overall success of digital streaming brought to you by Netflix has a lot of people talking about what’s next for digital media. There is no doubt that declining DVD sales and the slow up-start of Blu ray has Hollywood thinking of new ways to get you to pay for their movies. Most of the thoughts I have been hearing lately are talking about jumping on the digital media bandwagon, a thought I can understand, the days of running out to a store to find what you want to watch are over...

Yesterday, the first full trailer for Toy Story 3 popped up online. I fell asleep shortly afterward, so that’s why you are getting it today (or tonight). Let’s just say that the trailer brings the laughs big time. It’s been a while since I have seen Toy Story 1 or 2, but I do remember the jist of what happened in both. In Toy Story 3, Andy goes off to college and Mrs. Davis donates Andy’s toys to a daycare center. This scenario of course lets Pixar introduce us to a lot of new toy characters,...

In this edition of Lost in Previews, we have the trailers for Kick-Ass, Creation, Alice in Wonderland, Repo Men, and Red Riding.
Sorry, it’s been a while. There have not been a lot of good trailers out there, but I am sure that will pick up soon. I know I already did a Kick-Ass trailer in a previous Lost in Previews, but this trailer is longer and you get a better look at the characters. I am really looking forward to this movie coming out. To watch the previous trailer and to read my synopsis, click here. Kick-Ass...

I looked at the theatrical trailers posted on iTunes yesterday, and about lost it when I saw that they had a trailer for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It’s a teaser trailer, but can I just say how much I loved the teaser. You learn absolutely nothing from the teaser other than the girl is getting a dragon tattoo and then there is some computer DOS screens. I just think it’s brilliant. I found the trailer posted on Music Box Films youtube page and the comments left by people who watched it were not positive....

The likelihood of this screening at Starlight Theatre (Kansas City, MO) depends on a positive response from local fans. Want to make sure this screening takes place? Tweet this survey (or share it however you like).
