SXSW 2012 is less than 2 months away. That’s 50 days for you sticklers as of this post running. We’ve already shared the first, second, and the third waves of artist festival organizers have shared for the 2012 edition of the festival. Today the list has grown again with the festival announcing panels, additional bands and the handy tool for those attending the festival the event schedule/scheduler a way to keep track of it all once on the ground in Austin. While I had recognized several acts names previously today’s announcement was...

Here is director Wes Anderson’s latest film, Moonrise Kingdom. Like his other films (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited), Moonrise Kingdom has an eclectic look and interesting humor. Don’t make me define interesting humor. The point is that I laughed. His films are always a little on the odd side, but I guess that is one of his trademarks. It is set in the 1960s and the film is lit in a way that makes it look like it was shot in the 1960s. The film stars Bruce Willis, Edward Norton,...

Detachment is a drama about a teacher who has some problems of his own, but comes to find out that his students and even his fellow teachers and administrators have problems as well. Adrien Brody plays the main character, and I am eager to see if this film will bring him back into the spotlight. He really does have some great acting chops, but no film since The Pianist has led him to critical acclaim like that one. This film looks to be an emotional one with a fantastic cast as well as some new faces. The trailer is...

I am still very excited to see The Woman in Black. This is the second trailer for the film, which oddly, is shorter than the first. I am also excited to see how Daniel Radcliffe does post-Harry Potter. He has been a sensation on Broadway, and now this is the first film he is in after the last Harry Potter. I am not much for scary movies, but I like that it is a period film and a ghost story. Daniel Radcliffe is looking pretty hot in it as well with the sideburns and period costumes. The film also stars Ciarán Hinds,...

The Lady is a biopic about Aung San Suu Kyi who is an important political hero for the people of Burma in their quest for democracy. The film stars Michelle Yeoh, David Thewlis, and Jonathan Raggett. Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, Leon: The Professional, and La Femme Nikita) directed the film. It looks to be a very well done film with an important message.
“THE LADY is the extraordinary story of Aung San Suu Kyi and her husband, Michael Aris. It is also the epic story of the peaceful quest of the woman who is at...

Here at Lost in Reviews, we couldn’t be more excited that American Animal will see it’s time in theaters! The film was a favorite of the SXSW Film Festival and ended up on our end of the year top 10 before it’s release date was announced. Below is the Screen Media press release about the deal. If you would like to read my review of American Animal click here and be sure to watch Angela’s interview with Matt D’Elia and cast.

I have now seen David Fincher’s version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo twice. The most astonishing and utterly creative thing about the film is the opening credits. It is not expected after you see the opening scene for the film to be blasted with this visually stunning sequence set to “Immigrant Song” by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Karen O. Io9.com has the entire opening credits scene in its entirety as well as a making-of video. There is also an interview with Tim Miller of Blur Studio about...

As the chief movie trailer chick here at Lost in Reviews, it is my duty to let you know which movie trailers in 2011 blew me away. Hopefully, they are some of your favorites as well (if you are in to this kind of thing). The following trailers are presented in no particular order. You can click on the film’s title to get the complete description of the trailer, movie poster, synopsis, and release date.
1. Snow White and the Huntsman – This film is pretty much one of my most anticipated films to see in 2012....

When the film, Prometheus, was first announced to be going into production, it was described as an Alien prequel. Considering Ridley Scott is the director of the film and the first Alien film, it was not a stretch. Skip to article in Entertainment Weekly a month or more ago about Prometheus. The interviews with the actors and Ridley Scott only hinted at an Alien connection and the mentions about Alien were vague at best. This is the teaser for the film. It is very much a teaser as it is not very long, and you have no...

It has been ten years since The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was released in theatres. Today, the first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released online. I am an avid fan of the first trilogy. The Fellowship of the Ring is on my list of my all-time favorite films. I recently saw all three films in the extended version in the theatres again. That was an amazing experience, even though Return of the King was far too long to sit through in a theatre with a raging headache. The Hobbit...

Wrath of the Titans is the sequel to the updated Clash of the Titans that came out a couple years ago. Clash of the Titans was my first time seeing a film in 3D. It was converted in post-production to 3D and it was horrible. I will never see a film that was not shot in 3D if I can help it. Was this one shot in 3D? I don’t know, but the trailer certainly was made to be seen in 3D. The first film was not that bad in my opinion, but the 3D ruined it. I don’t think it did well with the critics, but I guess...

I just posted last night about the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises and today the full trailer was released online. The film stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan. I am just going to let the trailer speak for itself.
“Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman...

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is a film based on the novel of the same name by Paul Torday. The film is about bringing salmon to Yemen, and this actually becomes a reality after the British Prime Minister’s press secretary takes it on as a good will story. The film has some humor and a love story within it. The film stars Emily Blunt, Ewan McGregor, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Amr Waked. The script was written by Simon Beaufoy who also wrote the scripts for 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire. Lance Hallstrom (Chocolat,...

“From the Gringos who brought you Anchorman” is a great tagline for this Will Ferrell movie, Casa de mi Padre. Diego Luna, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Genesis Rodriguez join Will Ferrell in this obvious comedy that may in fact be in Spanish. Andrew Steele (Saturday Night Live, Funny or Die) wrote the screenplay and Matt Piedmont makes his film directorial debut.
“Armando Alvarez (Will Ferrell) has lived and worked on his father’s ranch in Mexico his entire life. As the ranch faces financial strains, Armando’s...
