As I am heading to Scotland tomorrow for a vacation (where I plan on running through some stone circles), I thought it appropriate to post news on my favorite Scottish (fictional) man, Jamie Fraser. Outlander author Diana Gabaldon has a new Facebook page. Here is what she posted yesterday:
“So EVERYBODY (maybe a few _more_ than everybody) asks me “So what about a MOOOOOVIE?!?!” Well, here’s how it stands: The books have been optioned by Essential Entertainment, and they (EE) tell me that they’re...

The Complete Saga on Blu-ray quickly becomes the #1 pre-order and #1 catalog title since the launch of the high-definition format.
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment- “Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced today that STAR WARS is the bestselling catalog Blu-ray Disc of all time with worldwide sales totaling one million units, including 515,000 units sold in North America in its first week alone. This represents $84 million in worldwide consumer spend including $38 million in...

Sometimes it pays to stay up until two in the morning. I just visited facebook, and official facebook page for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has posted the second trailer for the film. Some people got the chance to see an eight minute trailer for the movie before advanced screenings of Moneyball and Straw Dogs. This is not the same trailer. This trailer is still much longer than any full trailer that you see in the theatres. This trailer lasts 3 minutes and 46 seconds. If you have not read the book or are in the...

J. Edgar is Clint Eastwood’s next film based on the life of J. Edgar Hoover. Leonardo DiCaprio plays John Edgar Hoover and the film looks to be following him through all of his life, so DiCaprio has some aging to do. Hoover formed the Bureau of Investigation which later became the FBI. He was the director of the FBI from 1935 until his death in 1972. The film also stars Naomi Watts, Judi Dench, Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas, Damon Herriman, Ken Howard, Jeffrey Donovan, Ed Westwick, Stephen Root, Lea Thompson, and Dermot...

As if Liam Neeson could not kick any more ass, here comes The Grey. Liam Neeson plays an oil rig worker whose plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness along with the rest of his coworkers. This is basically one of those films where people end up in the middle of nowhere and have to fight to survive. There are some wild animals to contend with in this version. They meet a pack of wolves. I have to say that they look like Wolf Pack from Twilight, so hopefully one of them won’t morph into Taylor Lautner mid-scene....

Magnet, a subsidiary of Magnolia Pictures finally put pen to paper on The Innkeepers. While I’m not sure what took so long, I’m happy to see the film will finally see the light of day. The Innkeepers is set to release on VOD platforms December 30, 2011, followed by a theatrical release in February 2012. With a DVD and Blu Ray release to follow.
Though I’m happy to see that The Innkeepers has been picked up, I’m a little worried that the window for a successful release has closed. Don’t get me wrong,...

Pack the turntables and mics into the station-wagon and fill the picnic basket up with vinyl – Rhymesayers Entertainment is back this year with the Family Vacation Tour and founding members and cornerstone figures in the Independent Hip Hop Movement, Atmosphere, are leading the charge. In support of their new album, The Family Sign, with back up from Evidence, former member of Dilated Peoples, and Blueprint, the show is stopping by to shake down Liberty Hall in Lawrence, Kansas on September 26th. The show is on a Monday,...

13 is about an underground game that bets on the chances of a person coming out alive. The synopsis below pretty much summarizes what is going on in the trailer. I am a little miffed at the beginning as to what era this takes place in based on how Statham is dressed, then I saw the electronic money counter. Why is it called 13? Because there are 13 men in the game. The film stars Jason Statham, Sam Riley, 50 Cent, Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon, Emmanuelle Chirqui, Ray Winstone, Ray Liotta, and Alexander Skarsgård.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is on a role right now with some solid films in line to be released in the next year. One of those is Premium Rush. JGL plays a bike messenger in NYC who picks up an envelope for delivery that turns out to be something much more than that. The trailer does not allude to what is in the envelope, but it must be bad news. I faintly remember JGL getting injured while filming Premium Rush. I wonder how much of the stunts he did himself. I think my cyclist friends are going to like this one.
The film...

I have to hand it to the folks that are doing the trailers and publicity for the upcoming Muppets movie. This trailer is the latest spoof trailer for The Muppets. Genuis! The other spoofs have been takes on The Green Lantern and The Hangover Part II, as well as a fake movie trailer. This one is a spoof of the American version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I have included the original Dragon Tattoo trailer for comparison. Everything that has been released so far for The Muppets makes me really excited to see...

The first trailer for We Bought A Zoo is now online. I have not read the book the film is based on, but I am interested to see how this movie was done. This film is directed by Cameron Crowe and he also co-wrote the screenplay. The film boasts a great cast headlined by Matt Damon and costars Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church, Patrick Fugit, Elle Fanning, and John Michael Higgins. The song used in the beginning of the trailer is “Don’t Come Around Here No More” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers....

It is finally here. After the teaser of the trailer was released last week, the final full version of the second trailer The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is now online. It is a much better trailer than the first one. I would also say that it is better than all the trailers for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. My favorite trailer is from The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and this trailer is not up to par with that one.
More iconic scenes from the book are shown in this trailer. Of course, there are more wedding...

I am not much for these teases of trailers, but the clip of the second trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 actually shows some new footage not seen in the previous trailer. The full trailer will be released on Tuesday, so come back to Lost in Reviews then to get your fill.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is in theatres November 18, 2011. Less than 70 days . . .

Two new teaser posters for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 were released today on Yahoo Movies. Keep in mind that these are teaser posters. The official one-sheet movie poster has not been released. I am hoping the final poster is good because I am not very impressed with these. I actually like the Jacob one better. I have not really liked any of the posters for the Twilight movies save for the original Twilight poster that has Edward looming over Bella in a protective stance. What do you guys think?

Hey it’s a new cop drama. Wait, no, never mind it’s a show about Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Um nope wrong again it’s both. Yeah that’s right I said both. I don’t know if David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf are brilliant or crazy. We all know that cop dramas are television gold these days. However genre television, while often fanyboytastic and convention friendly, are often where ratings go to die. So maybe by bringing the two together NBC has found a loophole, maybe.
Grimm stars...
