It’s not everyday that an actress can go from being a little known teen drama actress to a soap opera star to cult hero status, but yet that is exactly what Sarah Michelle Gellar did when she became known as Buffy Summers in Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When Buffy ended its run on the now defunct UPN in May 2003 Gellar showed occasionally on the big screen most notably in The Grudge but has not returned to small screen until this fall in the new noir drama Ringer. Gellar stars in a dual role...

For most of us I suspect death is an abstract idea. We know it’s there in the background but we choose not to think about it. It’s an event that will one day happen and there is nothing we can do to stop it. For some the idea of death is something to fear, for others it is something to embrace. When someone close to us has died we mourn their loss and we feel their absence from our lives. A hole opens up in our soul that can never be truly filled again. But death also brings a feeling a nonchalance...

There is nothing like a down and dirty soapy drama. You know one that you salivate over every week. The one that you cheer for when the bitch who has had it coming finally gets hers or when the couple you have been rooting for finally hook up. Yeah that one. It’s okay to admit you that you watch them you are among friends here. We do not judge, well Ryan might, but the rest of us won’t. I kid Ryan, I kid.
Well even if you choose to remain in the guilty pleasure closet I implore...

There are two types of people in this world: those that “get” Zooey Deschanel and those that don’t. Not saying anything against Ms. Deschanel, but let’s face it some people don’t like a chick that can be an oddball geek while rocking overalls. Luckily I am not one of those people. This Fall she plays Jessica Day, a girl who gets dumped by her boyfriend in what is quite possibly the most embarrassing way to get dumped and goes off searching for herself….blah, blah, blah. You’ve...

I have an 8 year old who I stopped buying toys for a couple of years ago. Now you may think that would make me a mean mom and I am sure my kid would agree with you after being told to clean their room or do their homework. But you see I have a good reason for not buying my kid toys and that would be because once she got the new, shiny toy she would play with it for perhaps an hour or two (that’s being very generous by the way) before tossing it in her toy box never to play with again. So you can see why after years...

The first thing I noticed about Wilfred was that it was rated TV MA LS. Which for those of you who don’t know what those initials stand for it means that the new dark and twisted FX comedy is considered unsuitable for audiences under 17, has crude indecent language, and explicit sexual activity. Yes folks, a show about a man who writes four drafts of a suicide note, research’s a drug’s side effects on Wikipedia, and sees a dog as a grown man is not suitable for children under 17. All I could think was, “Oh...

What started out as Kevin Tancharoen’s way to show Warner Bros how the series could be successfully re-imagined with the short video titled Mortal Kombat Rebirth, which eventually segued into the 9 webisode series Mortal Kombat Legacy. Legacy stars Michael Jai White as Jackson Briggs, Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade, and Darren Shahlavi as Kano. Since the first episode premiered on Machinima’s YouTube Channel it has received over 5 million views. After the successful launch of the first webisode there is already...

In 1991 George R. R. Martin began writing the medieval fantasy series A Song of Fire and Ice. A world spanning the lands of Westeros and Essos. A world so grand that what had been originally planned as a 3 book series has gone to encompass 7 novels which include 3 prequel novellas. A world so vast that now it comes to the small screen in HBO’s new series Game of Thrones. When I first heard that HBO was producing the new series I admittedly had never heard of the series the show was based on. It’s possible...

Well crap. That was 21 minutes wasted. Yeah that’s right, I said wasted. Man oh man, was that promo they put out a couple of months ago misleading. You know that feeling you get when you’re watching a movie on the big screen for the first time, and half way through it hits you that you saw all the best parts in the trailer the other day while you were waiting for Wipeout to come on? Well that’s how I felt while I was watching the premiere of Happy Endings. What a let down. They should be ashamed...

Dear Fox Television Executives,
You don’t know me, although I have been watching your network since the days when Bart looked like some kind of deranged dinosaur, and in all this time I have not asked you for anything. Not even when you made the ridiculous decision to cancel The Good Guys. It was Bradley freaking Whitford! I mean, come on! Sorry, off topic. That one still gets to me, you know? I haven’t bombarded your offices demanding a fourth season of Fringe. Thanks for that, by the way. I haven’t...

Hoping to join the ranks of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and cult favorite Office Space, is the new single-camera Comedy Central show, Workaholics; starring Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson. The new series gained it’s footing with the web series 5th Year, which can be seen at Funny or Die. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with one of the stars of Workaholics, Adam Devine.
Adam: Hey Mendie, it’s Adam.
Me: Hi Adam, it’s nice talking with you. I am from Lost in Reviews; we...

I dislike being wrong. I dislike it immensely. No even that doesn’t stress the point in which I am trying to make. I loathe, despise, hate being wrong. Almost as much as I despise losing and ladies and gentlemen I was wrong. You may remember back in February a little Lost in Previews post I did showcasing CBS’s latest edition. Well in that write up I clearly stated that I was planning on tuning in on the merit of the promo alone. I should have stopped there.
Where did the funny go I ask? I write...

Let me just start off by saying that I love shows like Camelot and I do mean LOVE them. So it is really hard for me to be negative about them. Which means that I may not be the best judge of character when it comes to shows like HBO’s Game of Thrones or Starz’s Camelot, because even when they suck I will keep on watching. But let’s face it, when it comes to original programming the Starz channel is the baby of the premiere channels considering they only began to air newly scripted shows in 2005 with The...

Wilfred is a remake of an Australian show by the same name. Normally just reading the words remake make me want to go screaming for the woods. However this time I am blissfully in the dark about anything regarding the new FX comedy’s predecessor and I could not be happier. Because if the promo is any indication of how good this show is going to be I don’t want to know anything about the original. Except to say thank you creators Jason Gann and Adam Zwar for creating what looks to be a wildly funny show.
Wilfred...

The Guild is a web series created by Felicia Day about the lives of an online guild called “The Knights of Good.” If you aren’t familiar with who Felicia Day is then you are one of the few who have not discovered the awesomeness that is Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog — which coincidentally, has The Guild to thank for being one of Joss Whedon’s inspirations. Aside from guest starring on numerous programs, Day is also known for her role as one of the many newly awakened slayers in the...
