I can’t help it the first time I saw a promo for the new fantasy series Game of Thrones, my heart started to do back flips. Was it because I had fallen in love with the A Song of Fire and Ice series the HBO show is based off of? Or maybe it was because the possibility of The Hobbit being made seemed to be drifting farther and farther away from reality. It also could have been that ever since I was a young wide-eyed girl, movies such as The Never Ending Story and shows like Hercules have captured my imagination in...

It was only a matter of time before someone in Hollywood decided it would be a good idea to make a show about remaking a popular British hit into an American show. In what will quite possibly be the roll that maybe doesn’t make us forget his role on Friends will definitely make it a dim memory. Matt LeBlanc stars as Matt LeBlanc in the upcoming BBC/Showtime satrical comedy Episodes. Episodes is a show about a couple who are asked to remake their popular show into an American version. Normally, I am skeptical...

When I see the words “based on hit British show” I visibly cringe in terror. Which of course means that in today’s entertainment jungle those words are thrown about quite often. Sometimes the results are a resounding hit, The Office, and others fall on deaf ears, Life on Mars. Now I am making an unresearched and unproven guess when I say that I am pretty sure that the average TV viewer does not flip to BBC America for a night of entertainment. I feel for those Americans because they have no idea...

The Walking Dead has taken many interesting turns in it’s first four episodes. Tonight’s episode, “Vatos,” is no different. Those of us who have read the books got a little satisfaction, and those who haven’t were along for one hell of a ride. That ride came with a fairly big price tag though, making you wonder how far you would be willing to go to save a stranger’s life. It also questioned a little bit of that ‘reality factor’ this show has normally been very good about.
Let...

In 1986, 5 young lads on the brink of adulthood embark on the adventure of their lives known as college. Created by the same guy who directed National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, Walt Becker, Glory Daze centers around 4 guys who at first glance I can only describe as stereotypical. We have Joel who is their version of an every-geek. Sawyer who I can’t decide is a walking, talking closet case or the sentimental jock. Jason the Nixon loving prep. Eli the sexually frustrated Jewish boy. Which brings us to the...

There seems to be a running theme so far throughout The Walking Dead TV series. Do you risk your own skin for another human who may not deserve it? Fans of the show will more than likely be just as divided as the characters themselves.
Episode 3, “Tell It To The Frogs,” gives us a heaping helping of social and psychological thrills. Personally, I think of this episode as a lovely gift that many TV and movie viewers rarely receive and are allowed to enjoy. Darabont showed us that his AMC show is not just for...

Before settling down to write a recap I find it necessary to busy myself with mindless tasks. The reason for this is because I find if jump immediately into the recap my mind goes blank and the idea of putting pen to paper tends to cause the shakes. So today after I finished watching this week’s episode I put my notes to the side, turned on an old episode of Supernatural, and grabbed the broom. Hardwood floors may be beautiful to look at, but they are a bitch to keep clean. When I finished sweeping the floors...

Hey Walking Dead fans, here’s a brief description, sneak peak, and screen shots of this coming Sunday’s third episode of The Walking Dead.
Episode 3 – “Tell It To The Frogs”
In this episode, Rick makes a decision to go back to Atlanta to retrieve the bag of guns and save a man’s life. Lori and Shane must deal with the surprising return of someone they thought was dead.
So obviously, Rick will finally meet up with the camp of survivors living on the outskirts of Atlanta. I can’t wait to see the reunion...

This week’s episode of The Walking Dead is all about figuring out if you have the ‘guts’ to do what it takes to retain your humanity while fighting for your life. While “Guts” will live up to zombie-lover’s expectations of gore and violence, we get a healthy dose of drama and reality checks as well.
This review has a few small spoilers – read at your own risk.
Right from the start, we get a juicy story plopped in our laps. It seems that the ever persistent Rick will have quite the...

What price are we willing to pay to protect the majority? If we are to believe Walternate, the few hundred souls that are encased in Amber weigh heavily on his conscious. It would seem that aside from being a nifty way of stopping tears in the universe, it also keeps humans in a suspended animation state. Not alive, but not dead either. Unfortunately for the people trapped inside the quarantine zones there is no chance of rescue because that could trigger another tear. I am starting to think living in AltWorld kinda...

The Walking Dead is a comic that I have been reading religiously since it’s debut back in 2003. The whole time I was reading it, I was always thinking, “This would make a kick-ass movie!” Well now this gloriously gory series has done one better – it’s come to TV. Why would that be better than a movie, you ask? When you’re watching a movie, you only get 90-120 minutes to meet your characters, love them, and follow them through their zombie-escapades. With a television series, you get...

If you had come up to me at any point between 2003 and now to ask me what my favorite comic was, The Walking Dead would have been my immediate response. I’m a big fan of post-apocalyptic dramas and stories with dark twists. Add to that my love of zombies and the undead, and you’ve got a fangirl from the get-go. Finally, the moment millions of readers and I have been waiting seven years for is here: The Walking Dead is coming to TV! With my Walking Dead background, I will be very excited to see how AMC will...

For anyone that took one look at the photo introducing this piece and thought “Yum” I say “Right?!?” But Idris Elba isn’t the only thing the BBC One channel has going for it. Nope the fact is that aside from it being a police drama it just happens to be a damn good show. So far, that is. I have only seen the first episode in Series 1 so I am kinda guesstimating that future episode’s will be just as good. Now I could just search through my trusty sites and catch up on Series 1 before...

Ok I admit it I loved this episode because of it’s title. I mean how could anyone not love the title? It boggles the mind. Literally, my mind is boggled. But seriously folks I do not recommend watching this show after working 12 hours and having a couple of drinks. The combination, normally, is a recipe for good times does not mix well when trying to follow along long enough get a general idea of what is going on so that a recap can be finished. So in the spirit of not being able to write a coherent sentence...

Due to technical issues with a cable company that shall remain nameless I was unable to recap last week’s episode “The Box.” I was finally able to watch it online and by that time I was in full “I hate my cable company” mode that I was not in the right mind to be recapping a commercial let alone an hour long science fiction show. But thankfully all is now well.
Raise your hand if you were like me and thought the actor at the very beginning of Thursday’s episode bore a striking resemblance...
