Season 3 opens up with Olivia being “counseled” by as part of her treatment. It would seem that the only people who know that she is really “our” Olivia are Walternate, Alt Philip Broylers, and the viewers. As far as everyone else in Alt World is concerned she is their daughter, their friend, their co-worker. However something tells me that Fauxlivia’s mother knows deep down that Olivia isn’t “her” daughter. Don’t ask me why I feel that way, I just do.
For reasons...

Undercovers has been described as an action spy thriller. I describe Undercovers as a show that lacks originality and focus. The husband and wife spy team Steven and Samantha Bloom played by Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have chemistry, not to mention charisma, to spare. But it’s not enough. We learn at the beginning of the premiere that the Blooms have been out of the spy biz for 5 years so that they could lead a normal married life. Which by normal they mean running a very busy and I am guessing popular...

Before we get into the the show itself I ask that you please look to the picture on the left and tell me that Martha Plimpton doesn’t look as comfortable as I think she does? Lounge pants rule and I want her T-Shirt. Ok enough of that. Onto Social D and The Dead Milkmen. I hope my parents aren’t reading this but I so would have loved to have parents who even knew who those 2 bands are let alone listen to them. Um…never mind because then I might have had to “rebel” by listening to Michael...

The original series ran from 1968 to 1980 and although I have a vague recollection of the show it is nothing more than a couple of images of Jack Lord and grass skirts. So needless to say I went in to the premiere with an open mind and an eye out for any Lost landmarks I could spot. No, Daniel Dae Kim does not count. If he did then Grace Park would count as spotting a Cylon.
I came out of the premiere with not much more knowledge to be honest. Alex O’Laughlin stars as, if not younger than, an upgraded version...

I don’t know what the hell is going on with The Event. In the first five minutes, I rewound it four times because I thought I had missed some crucial piece of the story. Turns out I didn’t miss anything except a chance to be even more confused. Luckily for me the “What the hell?!?!?” feeling never left so I neither gained or lost anything.
I know it is gonna seem strange, but I could not get rid of the feeling that I had seen the “Girlfriend missing from the room” story before. If...

Tonight I spent twelve minutes on the phone with my internet company trying to find out if my service was going to be up and running so I could write the review. I spent five minutes cursing the air after I stubbed my toe on my way to the kitchen to get a drink before the show started. I spent 20 minutes researching the cast and crew of the show and researching the Prohibition Era. I spent another 30 minutes staring in vain at my laptop trying to conjure up just the right words to describe HBO’s new series Boardwalk...

I never liked X-Files. Boy do I feel better getting that off my chest. That’s right world I do not like the X-Files. I don’t know why Scully had a stick up her ass and I don’t care. Do aliens exist and did the Smoking Man have a purpose? Who gives a flying … well you can fill in the blank. So you will understand that when I heard about the new show that J.J. Abrams was producing that had X-Files whisperings I barely managed to give it more than a passing glance. Logically I should have loved the...

As much as it goes against everything I believe in I decided that I couldn’t not watch the new courtroom drama Outlaw on NBC. It goes against my belief system because I am a huge believer in the fact that there can only be at the very least 100 different ways to spin a law show, so why bother trying 101 ways? Okay, so it’s not a fact and only my opinion, but I can’t be the only one who feels that way. But, NBC, who can by now respectfully be called the King of the Courtroom has decided in all their infinite...

In 1990, the French released a film by the same name. In 1993 the US came out with their own version called Point of No Return and in 1997 the television series La Femme Nikita debuted in both the United States and Canada. Now on September 10, 2010 yet another version is gracing the small screen. Except this time the concept centers around a beautiful young spy who is determined to bring down the very people that made her a spy.
Hey, wait a minute, I am almost positive I have seen this story before. Oh say three times...

Although I have had my fill of quirky detective shows lately I had no problems adding Terriers to my review list. If only because it kept me from having to watch and even review The CW’s Hellcats. Terriers is a new show on FX starring Donal Logue (Grounded For Life) as Hank Dolworth an ex-cop who along with his best friend, Britt Pollack (insert inappropriate jokes here) played by Michael Raymond-James (True Blood), decide to open up a not quite legal P.I. business.
Before I begin this review I must first plead...

I fully admit that I love it when the Big Wigs decide to provide the viewers with sneak peak of an upcoming show. Not only does it allow for the critic in me to get a jump start on my review so I don’t have to worry about whether or not I will be able to get all the reviews done in a timely manner. But it also opens up an otherwise occupied hour. Which as we all know is in short supply these days. I also fully admit that I did not like Heroes. In fact, I didn’t even like the pilot, the first season,...

I never had any intention of doing a write up on The Bridge. First of all contrary to my most recent write ups I am not a huge fan of cop shows. I have nothing against them per say, I just don’t find them to be all that entertaining. Well no that’s not true. I do have a sick tendency to watch CSI:NY, but I don’t cover the show and I don’t write about it. Second of all when I had first heard about the new joint venture between CTV and CBS the only reason I wanted to check it out in the first...

I am what you would call a fair weather King fan. I have read a number of his books and the ones I read I loved, except for The Stand but that is another story. On the other hand the number of books he has written that I haven’t read could fill a library and this library would include The Colorado Kid which is what the new SyFy show, Haven, is based off of. So needless to say, I went into the premiere a new born baby with no reservations or expectations. It’s a good thing that I did too because I have a feeling...

For some reason, try as I might, I can not get the picture of Jason Lee’s character Brodie yelling about how some kid was going to get hurt on running up and down the escalator. Yeah I know that Mallrats came out in 1995, but for me that one scene told the world that Lee was here and wasn’t going anywhere. Now 15 years later Lee is starring in his second series, the first being of course the quirky My Name is Earl, Memphis Beat which premiered recently on TNT. A channel that is quickly becoming known as the...

Sometimes I get the feeling that summer is used by networks to dump shows they already made a commitment to but have no intention of seeing succeed. For some reason the networks feel that people watch less television in the summer months than they do any other time. That may be because we viewers have been Pavlovian trained to expect quality shows to begin in September. Which of course as we all know is no longer a true statement what with shows such as Burn Notice, Mad Men, Flashpoint, and True Blood to name a few...
