Underworld Awakening is the fourth film in the Underworld series. Although, the last film was a prequel. The only original cast member who returns is Kate Beckinsale. The other castmembers are Stephen Rea, Michael Ealy, Theo James , India Eisley, and Charles Dance. I wish Scott Speedman was in this, but he is not. I do like the part in the trailer where Selene asks where Michael is. I have always found these films entertaining, but not great. I do not think this one will fare better than the others.
“UNDERWORLD...

The Fright Night of 1985 has been making people shriek and laugh for 26 years. We all know that the last few years have been pretty rough for remakes, but the new Fright Night stands on it’s own and revamps the vampire genre with suspense, humor, solid scares, and lots of winks to us fanboys and girls.
Colin Farrell plays a suave and rugged Jerry Dandridge, one that fans of the original may not quite recognize. This time around he’s a blue collar guy, a night construction worker (so he says), but he still has...

First off, I am probably not the best person on the Lost in Reviews crew to review Conan the Barbarian. I vividly remember getting physically ill watching one of the original Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan movies when I was little. It was either showing on the TV or we rented the VHS tape. Based on that, I was not planning on seeing Conan the Barbarian at all. Lucky me, I am the only one that got an advanced screening of the movie to attend. In the end, the experience did not turn out to be as bad as I thought.
Conan the...

One Day is a film based on the novel of the same name by David Nicholls, published in 2009. David Nicholls also wrote the screenplay for the film. One would think that this would work in the film’s favor, but in this case, it did not.
The story of One Day involves Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) who start out as awkward almost lovers, and over time, walk the line between lovers and friends. It is called One Day because the story is told on the same day, July 15th, from 1988 until 2006. It actually goes...

The fact that you’re reading this specific review, on this specific site means that the chances are good that you’re from The United States of America. Right? Sure, you have the right to vote and access to free speech and all the other shit that comes with our super power, first world status. However, it also means that you’ve probably been buried by propaganda and internet blitzes, brainwashing you into a false belief that movies can only be made with computer generated graphics and over the top special effect...

Trespass is another home invasion thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage. I think the pairing of the two is a little odd, but they are both Oscar winners. It looks interesting, but it does not say much about the movie when they have it on demand the same day it comes into theatres. Trespass also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Cam Giagndet, and Liana Liberato and is directed by Joel Schumacher.
“In a private, wealthy community, priority is placed on security and no exception is made for the Miller family’s estate....

Win advanced screening passes for you and a guest to see OUR IDIOT BROTHER!
Every family has one: the sibling who is always just a little bit behind the curve when it comes to getting his life together. For sisters Liz (Emily Mortimer), Miranda (Elizabeth Banks) and Natalie (Zooey Deschanel), that person is their perennially upbeat brother Ned (Paul Rudd), an erstwhile organic farmer whose willingness to rely on the honesty of mankind is a less-than-optimum strategy for a tidy, trouble-free existence. Ned may be utterly lacking...

The Woman in Black is a horror/thriller film that stars everyone’s Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe. This is Daniel’s first foray into films post-Harry Potter. The trailer is excellent. Who does not think toys coming to life spontaneously is not scary. That woman in the window . . . well, I might not be seeing this by myself or at least any majority of the film since my eyes will be closed. It looks to be a scary, well-done film. Daniel Radcliffe looks very un-Harry Potter like, which is good. The film...

I grew up as a kid in the 80′s and early 90′s. There are some movies that are sacred. They make you remember a certain part of your life. I am not saying that Footloose was that for me, but man, I remember jamming to that Kenny Loggins cassette tape. I do not really agree with remakes of classic films. I never ever want to see a remake of The Goonies or Labyrinth. Hollywood seems to be on a remake and sequel streak that has no end. The “new” version of Footloose stars Kenny Wormald, Julianne...

First up on Blu Monday we have The Battle of Algiers, the latest release from Criterion. With this two disc Blu Ray release The Battle of Algiers has never looked better. The newly restored presentation has given the film a new life and restoring it to near visual perfection. Supervised by director of photography the digital restoration not only focused on the film’s visual brilliance it also brought to light the uncompressed monaural soundtrack. For fans of the film I think it’s safe to say that this is the definitive...

The night was like nothing I’d ever experienced before. An eclectic array of youthful bands were surrounded by a crowd better suited for the recent New Kids on the Block / Backstreet Boys show. There was a strong demographic of teens, but the overwhelming numbers came from the 30s something crowd. And yes, nearly everyone in the crowd was a woman. I ran into a gent, at one point in the show and asked him how he learned about the band(s). His reply, “All I’m trying to do tonight, is give my wife some room”. The answer...

The director of Zombieland, Ruben Fleischer, returns with 30 Minutes or Less a film that comes closer to Pineapple Express than anything undead. While this time around we are missing the big B.M. that doesn’t mean you should over look 30 Minutes or Less. Yes, its crude and it may leave a few plot holes, but it does manage to be entertaining. If you’re looking for more than an excuse to kill some time you may want to look elsewhere. The film won’t have you quoting it for days or drastically make you rethink your...

Man, that was a waste of time eleven years in the making. Sure, there were moments when the death scenes were hardcore enough to make Rob Zombie cover his eyes, but overall Final Destination 5 is no different than 4, 3, 2 or 1. Like everything else coming out of Tinseltown these days, recycled concepts from better movies seem to be the craze. But honestly, you could save yourself 13 bucks by missing this film in favor of a 99 cent blockbuster rental of the original. Why? The concept has not changed over the course of 11 years....
