This week on Blu Monday, we cover a range of films. We guarantee there is at least one choice for everyone this week. First is a DVD that released last week, Insidious. Directed by James Wan, the director of the first SAW film. The one that most people liked. All you really need to know is that it is a scary film but most could still handle it. Watch the video for more information. Next up we cover the latest Blu-Ray from Dr. Who. Series Six, Part One. Lost in Reviews is quite the fan of all things Dr. Who. We also have Limitless...

Well, it is finally here. The first The Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer is, in fact, a teaser trailer. You do not see much new footage. The beginning is a rehash of the previous two films. The majority of it is Gary Oldman playing Jim Gordon lying in a hospital bed talking to Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne/Batman who is off-screen. You get a quick glimpse of Tom Hardy as Bane and it ends with Batman facing off with Bane. There is no glimpse of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. There is a nice shot that relates to the teaser...

We do not normally post featurettes from films on Lost in Reviews, but I saw this one this morning and thought it definitely should be shared. Itunes Movie Trailers posted a featurette called It All Ends. It shows many of the major actors in the series having their “wrap” on filming Harry Potter. I am not going to lie. There were a few tears on my face after watching this. You can see towards the end that the cast and crew are watching a little compilation on a TV screen. Here’s hoping that is on...

The trailer for Hugo, formerly titled Hugo Cabaret, has hit the interwebs. This is a film based on the novel The Invention of Hugo Cabaret by Brian Selznick. This is also a Martin Scorsese directed film and his first foray into 3D. The film was actually shot in 3D, so this is one film that will actually look good in 3D. This is definitely a family film. The film stars Asa Butterfield, Chloe Grace Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory, Richard Griffiths, Frances...

Wow. Just wow. The teaser trailer for John Carter just debuted this morning and it looks better than I expected. I included two of the production design drawings that were released a couple of days before the trailer. They definitely got me more excited for the look of this movie. The trailer did not disappoint. I am way more excited for this movie than Sherlock Holmes 2. I also have to give the trailer makers props for keeping the trailer short(er) at 1:44. They could have shown less, and it would have been just...

SPOILER FREE – MOSTLY.
The day has finally come. The day we have all been waiting nearly ten years for: seeing how it all ends. Now I know that most of you have probably read the books and therefore know how it will end. I, however, took an approach early on in the series that I would only read the book after that corresponding movie had been seen. That way, I could watch each film with fresh eyes, free from judgement that they had left out a favorite part of mine.
Now, if you need a bit of a refresher, you honestly should...

In support of the film, Sarah’s Key, author Tatiana de Rosnay was in Dallas to promote the film adaptation of her novel. Lost in Reviews had the chance to sit down with Tatiana and discuss her book and the film. It was enlightening to talk to the author of the book a film is based on since everything about the story originated with her. Tatiana discusses how the film came about and her involvement in the process, how she chose the subject matter, and her more recent novels. She also let us know at least one of her...

I enjoyed the first Sherlock Holmes movie, and considering how successful it was, a sequel was bound to happen. Guy Ritchie is back directing Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law, and Noomi Rapace in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Rachel McAdams is gone, but there is a rumor that she may have a cameo. This is Noomi Rapace’s first foray into English-speaking films after her awesome performance as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish Millennium films. The film also stars Jared Harris, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry, and Gilles...

The trailer for Steven Soderbergh directed Contagion made its way online tonight. The most interesting thing about the film is the amount of well-known actors that are in this film; Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Ehle, John Hawkes, Elliot Gould, and Sanaa Lathan. While it looks like good thriller, it reminds one of I Am Legend, Outbreak, and other mass-casualty disease films. I am hoping there is something original in this film to set...
