Lost in Reviews was invited to a round table interview with Selena Gomez in Dallas, Texas. Selena Gomez is a Dallas area native, and she was in town promoting her new movie, Monte Carlo, which opens July 1, 2011 nationwide. We were able to bring a young fan with us, and I brought eight year old Madison Zdrojewski with me. She was able to ask Selena a question towards the end of the interview. Selena was gracious enough to sign a poster for Madison after the interview.
In the interview, Selena talks about her music, her...

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a film adaptation of the novel by John le Carré. Set in the 1970′s, the general synopsis is: “In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6′s echelons.” I have heard about this film for a while without ever really knowing what it was about or who was in it. I guess if I had read the novel, I would be more informed. The cast is a slew of top actors including Gary Oldman (as...

Admittedly, I do not fit the demographic that Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D is aiming for. I’m not a 14-17 year old boy and while I did grow up watching the Transformers cartoon series, it carries far less nostalgic value for me than it does for my younger brother (or my husband, who are 32 and 33, respectively). I should also mention – just so you know where I stand – I didn’t care much for the first Transformers film and my feelings for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen range somewhere between complete indifference...

War Horse is a film adaptation of a novel of the same name by Michael Murpurgo, published in 1982. The novel was also adapted into a play which premiered in London in 2007 and makes its way to Broadway this year. I have to say that this is one of the most epic trailers I have seen in a while, and I do not throw that word around very often in regards to trailers. It kind of reminds me of an Edward Zwick film, but it is actually directed by Steven Spielberg. The film stars Emily Watson, David Thewlis and Jeremy Irvine....

This week on Blu Monday we cover Beastly, Cedar Rapids and the indie film, Lebanon, PA. As you would expect from us, we have voted that Beastly is the best movie ever! Just kidding, but watch the video to see what Ryan thought of it. Cedar Rapids is the office comedy from last year that stars Ed Helms and John C. Reilly as well as Anne Heche. Lastly, we wanted to remind you that Lebanon, PA is available on Demand and on DVD/Blu-ray starting June 28th. We loved it so much, that we just can’t stop talking about it. Here is...

The first thing I noticed about Wilfred was that it was rated TV MA LS. Which for those of you who don’t know what those initials stand for it means that the new dark and twisted FX comedy is considered unsuitable for audiences under 17, has crude indecent language, and explicit sexual activity. Yes folks, a show about a man who writes four drafts of a suicide note, research’s a drug’s side effects on Wikipedia, and sees a dog as a grown man is not suitable for children under 17. All I could think was, “Oh...

I had the pleasure of interviewing Buck Brannaman again in support of Buck in Dallas, Texas. I tried to touch on all the praise and promotion this documentary has gotten since I first saw it at SXSW 2011. Buck was also on The Late Show with David Letterman the night before my interview. Buck talks about Eddie Vedder, the Academy Awards, how his family has reacted to all the fame, a recent outbreak of equine herpes that forced him to cancel some of his clinics, and how you would care for an older horse.
I attended a screening...

Boobs. Pot. Boobs, poop jokes, gratuitous swearing, boobs, smoking pot — oh, did I mention boobs? Wow, I have just summed up the plot of Bad Teacher in less than 15 words…Don’t I get a gold star sticker and a triple Patron on the rocks? I think after suffering through 89 minutes of Bad Teacher, I deserve it.
Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) is a “bad teacher” from the start. She’s skating through the school year’s curriculum doing the bare minimum as she plans to marry the money man...

Wow. I walked into a theater with my 3D glasses and somehow came out in the center of a political debate. Would someone please like to explain to me how Cars 2 became such a hot button topic? Must I remind you that this film features a race car saying “Cha-chow” and a tow-truck voiced by Larry the Cable Guy? I mean, we are not exactly discussing Fahrenheit 9/11 here.
Seriously, do yourself a favor and Google “Cars 2 versus Big Oil.” Now, just for fun, scroll down and read the comments after some of these...
