Let me just start off by saying that I love shows like Camelot and I do mean LOVE them. So it is really hard for me to be negative about them. Which means that I may not be the best judge of character when it comes to shows like HBO’s Game of Thrones or Starz’s Camelot, because even when they suck I will keep on watching. But let’s face it, when it comes to original programming the Starz channel is the baby of the premiere channels considering they only began to air newly scripted shows in 2005 with The...

INSIDIOUS is set for release this Friday April 1. The film was one of the opening night midnight features of SXSW 2011. While I was in Austin for SXSW, and the morning after the midnight showing of the film at the festival I had a chance to catch up with the writer, and one of the co-stars of Insidious Leigh Whannell. Whannell is perhaps best known for being the writer of 2004′s horror genre-redefining Saw. Saw ended up being the film which brought the Australian along with friend and director of both Saw and Insidious...

INSIDIOUS is set for release this Friday April 1. The film was one of the opening night midnight features of SXSW 2011. While I was in Austin for SXSW, and the morning after the midnight bow of the film at the festival I had a chance to catch up with the producer Oren Peli. If Mr. Peli’s name doesn’t ring a bell let me add this. He is also the writer, producer and director of 2007′s Paranormal Activity. Insidious marks the first film from Peli and his producing partners on Paranormal Jason Blum and Steven Schneider....

FilmDistrict will be releasing The Rum Diary on October 28, 2011. The news was announced today at CinemaCon. The Rum Diary is based on the novel of the same name by Hunter S. Thompson that was published in 1998. The Rum Diary stars Johnny Depp, Aaron Eckhart, Amber Heard, Michael Rispoli, Richard Jenkins and Giovanni Ribisi. Bruce Robinson directed and wrote the screenplay.
“The Rum Diary” tells the increasingly unhinged story of itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Depp). Tired of the noise and madness of New York and...

INSIDIOUS is set for release this Friday April 1. The film was one of the opening night midnight features of SXSW 2011. While I was in Austin for SXSW, and the morning after the midnight showing of the film at the festival I had a chance to catch up with Insidious director James Wan. Wan is perhaps best known for being the director of 2004′s horror genre-redefining Saw, though as you’ll find in the interview its a credit he is eager to shake. Saw ended up being the film which brought the friend and writer of both Saw...

Mesrine: Public Enemy #1: First up on Blu Monday we have the follow up to the anti-climatic Mesrine: Killer Instinct. This time around the film promises not to let you down. If you have seen the first film you know Mesrine‘s ultimate outcome. The escapes and ultra violent antics can only lead to one outcome. While still deeply engaging Meserine: Public Enemy #1 has the luxury of already developed characters giving range to new addition and more action. With a growing public profile and a taste of fame Mesrine becomes...

I had the opportunity to sit down with actors Shiloh Fernandez and Heath Freeman (who also co-wrote and co-produced) to talk about their film, Skateland. Once again, I did not have the opportunity to see Skateland prior to the interview. Skateland did not screen at SXSW, but will be coming to Dallas, Texas tentatively on May 20, 2011. I will definitely be seeing it when it comes here. I would like to say that Shiloh is very nice and easy to approach. This was my second time interviewing him at SXSW. He is one of...

After the sprinting pace that SXSW was going, we decided to start things off a little slower and stop in for a bite to eat at the MTV Garage. The thing about taking it easy at SXSW is it’s never just a mellow experience. A day of food and beer quickly turns into a great way to discover new music and what better way to do it than while eating great food around fantastic people. Even as I write this in the middle of day three I have to confess that MTV has remained on the top of my best day parties list. The food, bbq of...

“All of your horses are a mirror to your soul.”
Buck is a documentary about Buck “Buckshot” Brannaman, a legendary horse trainer. Buck travels around the country nine months out of the year giving four day horse training clinics. The clinics are for people who would like to advance their horsemanship or are having issues with their horse. However, Buck really describes his clinics as helping horses with people problems.
Buck’s method of training horses is using a soft feel. He is not about punishing horses for...

Wilfred is a remake of an Australian show by the same name. Normally just reading the words remake make me want to go screaming for the woods. However this time I am blissfully in the dark about anything regarding the new FX comedy’s predecessor and I could not be happier. Because if the promo is any indication of how good this show is going to be I don’t want to know anything about the original. Except to say thank you creators Jason Gann and Adam Zwar for creating what looks to be a wildly funny show.
Wilfred...

As you may know, we at Lost In Reviews were most excited for the SXSW premiere film, American Animal. The trailer really sells the film well too as it sets up the story for some crazy shit to go down. If you are like us and love to watch a train wreck, but also can’t live without a little social commentary on people, you will love American Animal. We sat down after the premiere and talked with Matt D’Elia: writer, director, star, producer and editor of American Animal, as well as Brendan Fletcher and Mircea Monroe,...

Previous to me seeing 96 Minutes at SXSW, I was able to interview the cast and director of 96 Minutes. Brittany Snow, Christian Serratos, Evan Ross, David Oyelowo, and writer/director Amy Lagos were all in attendance. I wish I had seen the film first because I would have had some better questions for them. I went for a group interview with this one and it happened on the deck of the Brixton in Austin, Texas.
